Built on historic site
A new multimillion-dollar casino complex in Sawclose, Bath will open in the spring of 2018, developers have informed the Bath Chronicle.
Bristol-based Deeley Freed Estates Ltd. told the newspaper the project is about just six weeks behind schedule and work is progressing despite several delays in the project, which was approved in 2013 and broke ground in 2014. The completed casino resort will include a 147-room Z Hotel, an entertainment venue and a number of bars and restaurants.
“We will be finished all our building work by August this year, when all the tenants will move in and start the interior fitting, ready for a spring 2018 opening,” a spokesman for the developer told the Chronicle.
The ?19 million (US$23.4 million) complex in the community in southwest England is being built at a historic site that once housed the Lyric Theatre. Silent movie legend Charlie Chaplin reportedly trod the boards there in his last performance before heading to the United States in 1910.
