The bugs are worked out. The kinks are unkinked. The time is right to enter a beta testing before going live. Just to make sure.
Fanatics Sportsbook has begun the beta testing phase, the company told PlayMA. As of May 25, existing customers of Fanatics ecommerce site are eligible to place bets. Customers will receive an invite with a code on it to access the beta version of the sportsbook Massachusetts app
The beta product customers will receive a bonus of $200 in bonus bets after placing a bet of $5 or more.
Once the company completes testing, Fanatics Sportsbook becomes the eighth of the Massachusetts apps, joining BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook, Barstool Sportsbook, WynnBET and Betr.
Fanatics Sportsbook will attempt to convert existing merchandise and apparel customers to sports betting customers to have a healthy share of the marketplace.
DraftKings currently leads that market. It held 52 percent of the market in April, and 48.4 of revenue. FanDuel came in second in both categories, and BetMGM finished third.
Fanatics Sportsbook is also live in Ohio and Tennessee, and with Maryland to be added. The company has a retail sportsbook at FedEx Field.
Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin hopes to be live in as many as 15 states by the NFL kickoff in September. The recent acquisition of PointsBet makes it easier.
