Betfair Announces Third Partner Change in New Jersey

Betfair has teamed up with Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget casino—owned by Landry’s Inc.—to offer online gambling in New Jersey. It’s the third casino partner for the company.

BetfairCasino will now operate under a partnership with Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget casino, the company announced.

The London-based online gaming operator has now had three casino partners in Atlantic City. Under New Jersey law, online gambling providers must be partnered with an Atlantic City casino.

Betfair was partnered with Trump Plaza when online gambling began in the state a year ago, but the casino closed in September. Betfair then had a temporary partnership with Caesars Entertainment—which runs three Atlantic City casinos—before now moving to the Golden Nugget.

Golden Nugget Atlantic City has its own online gambling website offering slots and table games, but not poker. Both websites, goldennuggetcasino.com and betfaircasino.com, will operate independently.

“We are very excited to move our operations to Golden Nugget Atlantic City, one of the premier resort destinations in New Jersey,” Don Ryan, senior vice president of gaming for Betfair US, said in a press release. “With this relationship, Betfair and Golden Nugget are well positioned to accelerate growth in 2015 and beyond.”
