Betfred Signs With Sportech for New Tote System

Bookmaker Betfred has selected Sportech to replace its existing tote systems at Totepool. The contract is reported to be worth $15.4 million.

Bookmaker Betfred will replace its tote systems at Totepool with Sportech’s Quantum Systems. The 10-year contract is reportedly worth more than .4 million in total revenues.

Sportech will also provide a new digital framework for betting on mobile, online and at self-service terminals through its Digital Link proprietary betting technology. Ongoing maintenance and support will also be provided throughout the course of the deal, the companies said in a press release.

“The new Quantum System, coupled with the Digital Link and G4 modules will anchor our tote offering going forward, and with the additional flexibility and market reach it gives us, we expect significant growth in our pools products,” said Philip Siers, Totepool managing director. “This is a major investment for Totepool, and it demonstrates our further commitment to horse racing, and a desire to see our pools betting operation, lead the way in technological innovation and racecourse service.”
