Betfred USA Sports will operate sportsbook at the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, which is slated to open this fall eight months of renovation and rebranding from its former Hard Rock name.

Betfred USA Sports is the American sports betting operation created last year by the British-based Betfred Group to enter the U.S. market.

The property was purchased in March 2018 by Richard Branson in partnership with Bosworth Hospitality Partners, Fengate Asset Management and Juniper Capital Partners for $200 million.

Betfred’s incursion into the U.S. market has been accelerating since its first license in New Jersey with its partnership with the Denver Broncos and as the licensed operator in Colorado, Iowa and Pennsylvania. The latest announcement is its first in Las Vegas.

The sports betting lounge will offer luxury seating, a video wall, OTC wagering, kiosks and a mobile gaming platform for use within the casino.

Betfred USA COO Bryan Bennett commented, “There is so much opportunity in Nevada. A location like this property, just off the Strip, allows us to announce our presence to a great market. Variety is always good, and this won’t be our last location here.”

Mohegan Gaming Vice President of Interactive Aviram Alroy said in a statement: “Our affiliation will introduce new and attractive competition to the Las Vegas market. Betfred will create a seamless and best-in-class experience on our gaming floor, which will cater to both domestic and international visitors.”
