The name Betr describes what founders say is a new way to look at sports wagers. The company, which is just starting to offer bets in the U.S., is the first direct-to-consumer micro-betting platform. Micro-betting allows bettors to wager on specific events that are not related to who wins or loses.

There are no spreads, no moneyline, and no total bets. Instead, users can bet on the Golden State Warriors to hit a three-pointer on their next possession or that Russell Westbrook or LeBron James turns the ball over the next time down the court.

Former SimpleBet founder Joey Levy and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul founded the company. Levy’s goal was to make betting easier.
