Bill Would Allow PA go Join Multi-State Poker Compact

A bill introduced in the Pennsylvania state House would place the state into the Multi State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA), under which five states currently pool online poker games to create larger pots.

House Bill 2078, sponsored by Rep. George Dunbar, would make Pennsylvania the sixth MSIGA state, pooling pots with Nevada, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey and West Virginia within 30 days of enactment.

“Within 30 days of the effective date of this subparagraph,” the bill reads, “request membership in the Multi-State Internet Gaming Association with New Jersey, Delaware, Nevada and any other states that join or have joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Association. The board shall enter into the interactive agreement on behalf of the commonwealth.”

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) would regulate the state’s involvement with the MSIGA. Pennsylvania is the top iGaming market in the country, producing $2.1 billion in revenue last year.
