Biloxi Developers Seek Approval Third Time

RW Development will try a third time for site approval for a Biloxi casino with a 45,000 square foot gaming floor featuring 1,300 slots and 20 table games. The Mississippi Gaming Commission denied RW's application in 2008 because the company's property doesn't extend to the waterfront. Approval was again denied on March 16.

RW Development recently filed an application for site approval from the Mississippi Gaming Commission to build a casino on U.S. 90 in Biloxi. The commission previously denied the developer’s application two times.

A legal notice in the June 29 edition of the Biloxi-D’Iberville Press indicated the company’s intent to apply for a casino license. It stated, “The applicants anticipate that the establishment will contain approximately 45,000 square feet of gaming space and approximately 1,300 slot machines and 20 table games.”

The Gaming Commission first denied site approval in 2008 because RW Development does not own property all the way to the water’s edge as required by state law. On March 16, the gaming commission again voted to deny site approval. RW Development appealed that decision in Harrison County Court.

Gaming Commission Executive Director Allen Godfrey confirmed the issue will be reviewed at the commission’s July 27 in Jackson.

Ray Wooldridge and his son, Brandon Wooldridge, are listed as the potential applicants, as well as Big Play Entertainment, owned by Ray Wooldridge.
