The city council of Black Hawk, Colorado, has voted to lift the $100 betting limit, which it hopes will attract some of the high rollers from Denver who bypass the city’s casinos for Las Vegas.
Black Hawk becomes the first of Colorado’s three casino towns (the others are Cripple Creek and Central City) to lift the limit, after state voters in November authorized the towns to make their own decisions on this matter, rather than having to go to the state’s voters each time they want to raise the maximum bet limit.
The new rules go into effect May 1.
