Gaming testing company BMM Testlabs announced that it will provide jobs to five graduates of the Testing/QA course it designed for the College Communautaire du Nouveau Brunswick (CCNB), the community college of New Brunswick, Canada.
BMM was contracted to build the curriculum in 2015 for New Brunswick students, leading a year-long development of curriculum and course outlines, for a one- and a two-year program. The process involved a number of industry partners to review and provide feedback, including IGT, PQA, Mariner and TSI Auto Solutions. This is the first time that CCNB has provided a course of this type.
“The high quality of the curriculum has been incredibly well matched to the high quality of students completing the course,” said Jean Corriveau, CTFL, PMP, director of operations of BMM Testlabs in Canada. “As promised, students attending the course at CCNB were able to couple hands-on training at BMM with their classroom study. Through this program BMM has already offered student internships to four individuals and we have provided five students from the first class with full-time positions.”
Linda Lemieux, SVP BMM Testlabs Canada, added, “As the industry’s most experienced test lab, it is very important for us to share our expertise with the community and encourage students to look to the testing industry as a career. Through these programs we not only ensure that the New Brunswick community continues to be a center of excellence for technology-based business, but we can train new test engineers in BMM’s methods and procedures long before they start work, giving them a real head start in the industry.”
