Longtime Las Vegas bookmaker and Sin City native Nick Bogdanovich was dismissed by Caesars Sports on August 31. His release came four months after Caesars Entertainment purchased William Hill for $4 billion. The company then named Bogdanovich, William Hill sportsbook director, as Caesars’ vice president of trading.
Bogdanovich started his career in 1986 as a ticket writer at the Sands sportsbook in Las Vegas. He spent nine years as Binion’s Horseshoe sportsbook director and also ran books at the Stratosphere, Mandalay Bay and Golden Nugget. In 2011, he was director of bookmaking at Club Cal-Neva sportsbooks when that group was bought by William Hill. The following year, he became sportsbook director for the parent company.
In a brief text message cited by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Bogdanovich wrote, “They wanted to go in a different direction.”
Caesars Sports and William Hill did not comment on the development.
