Borgata Atlantic City Honored for Corporate Equality

Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa scored 100 percent on the on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index. The survey reports on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality and is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. President Tom Balance says it’s a “core value” for the Borgata.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City has received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the casino announced in a press release.

The survey reports on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality and is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Borgata was one of 517 major U.S. businesses to earn top marks on the survey, the release said.

“Borgata is extremely proud to be named among the best places to work for LGBT equality for the second year,” said Tom Ballance, president and chief operating officer for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. “Honoring Borgata’s core values, this recognition demonstrates our commitment to supporting diversity and equal employment for all team members. We sincerely thank the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for their dedication in working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans.”

The survey rated 1,043 businesses in the report. It evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community, the release said.

Along with the perfect score, Borgata was named as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality, the release said.
