Borgata Atlantic City to Open Conference Center

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will open an $11 million Central Conference Center in May. The center will feature two stories of meeting space including five meeting rooms and a 6,500-square-foot clear span ballroom on the upper level.

The center will feature two stories of meeting space including five meeting rooms and a 6,500-square-foot clear span ballroom on the upper level, according to a press release from the casino.

“The launch of Central Conference Center complements our event space, allowing us to accommodate more weddings, special occasions, trade shows, business expos and more,” said Mark Vanderwielen, Vice President of Hotel & Property Operations for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. “As the market-leading resort destination in the region, we recognize the importance of our meetings and conventions customers and are delighted to offer them an exclusive product containing a level of service that is unmatched anywhere in the city.”

With the addition of the Central Conference Center, Borgata will now be able to offer more than 106,000 square-feet in meeting, event and convention space between its three venues, the release said.

Also, Borgata’s poker room set a new tournament field record for the property as 5,512 entries were made in the $560 buy-in opening event of the Borgata Winter Poker Open. The figure includes re-buys and resulted in a prize pool of about $2.7 million.

The top seven finishers each earned $150,000 under an agreed upon split. The event paid 500 players with a minimum payout of $1,109.
