Officials at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana announced as the property turns 20 years old, it will build a .5 million “Vegas style” pool to be called DARE, featuring a day and night club, bar, outdoor stage, cabanas and palm trees. The area will accommodate 1,000 people.
Horseshoe Bossier City General Manager Mike Rich said, “Research shows casino guests are looking for more than just slot machines and table games. The pool will certainly help from a general amenity standpoint. But certainly on weekends, the pool club is something very unique to this area. No one has anything like it. We think it’s lacking in this market and we’re excited to bring it to it.”
Construction will begin later this month on a site that currently is a parking lot. The project will open early this summer and add 60 new jobs.
The Margaritaville Casino Hotel opened last June in Bossier City, putting pressure on existing casinos to upgrade their facilities.
