Boyd Debuts Sports Wagering App

With the release last week of its new sports wagering application, B Connected Sports, Boyd Gaming Corp. has joined other operators who are making it easier for its customers in Nevada to bet on college and professional sports. The app is available on iOS and Android devices.

Boyd Gaming Corp. debut its new sports-betting application, B Connected Sports last week. The new app is available on iOS devices through iTunes and on Android devices at BConnectedSports.com. The app is part of the company’s B Connected player loyalty program, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Players must sign up at the six Boyd Gaming sports books at the Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, Sam’s Town, Fremont and California Hotel. After establishing an account and depositing a balance, they can begin to play.

“Our customers’ favorite types of bets have been included in B Connected Sports, including parlay bets,” said Bob Scucci, Boyd Gaming’s director of race and sports books.

Scucci said the application was released after “a large amount of customer testing feedback.”

Other Nevada casinos already in the sports gaming market include Station Casinos, South Point, William Hill, and niche player CG Technology.

Union Gaming says the move “adds another dimension” to Boyd’s locals market outreach, “though race and sports book revenue still accounts for only 2 percent of market GGR.”

“Modernization and broader implementation of technology (including the “mobilization” of the sports book platform) all contribute to this effort to enhance customers’ experience, as well as augment Boyd’s position as we await more meaningful turnaround in the locals market,” reported Union.
