Boylesports Moving to Gibraltar

Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker, Boylesports, will relocate its remote operations from the Emerald Isle to Gibraltar. The company currently offers betting sites with German, Spanish and Swedish language capabilities. Gibraltar is said to be more “online operator-friendly.”

CMO Arnold resigns

Boylesports, the largest independent bookmaker in Ireland, is moving its remote operations to Gibraltar in what the U.K. Economic Voice called “a bid to unify all of their operating licenses under the watchful eye of the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner.”

Boylesports offers bingo, slots, lotteries and poker through internet and telephone betting services and has a presence in almost 200 retail stores in Ireland. A betting app is also available for smartphone users.

By moving to Gibraltar, says the Voice, Boylesports joined an exodus of online gaming operators “to a much more online operator-friendly environment.”

Boylesports CMO James Arnold announced his resignation at the news. Arnold joined the company in 2013 and helped establish a London branch of Boylesports, which is now based in Dundalk, County Louth.
