Brazil Considers Sports Betting Legalization

The government of Brazil through its National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has issued a Request for Information for consultants and export organizations to help it in “Structuring of the Fixed Odds Lottery Project (Sports Betting).”

This would identify which companies would operate in such a market.

Once the regulations and structure are created, the Ministry of Economy would unveil the size of the investment and how many licenses would be issued.

The government estimates the new industry could be operational by July 2021.
