Brazil is aiming to have a regulated sports betting market with unlimited operators by as early as the beginning of next year, Games Magazine Brazil reported.
According to the report, any company that applies and meets requirements will be awarded a sports betting license. The country is looking to collect as much tax revenue as possible and limit illegal operations.
Licensed operators, however, will have to have some sort of land-based operations in order to create local jobs, the report said. A draft law should be ready within four months.
