Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd. has undertaken a trial of a virtual reality gaming arena called Zero Latency Macau. The trial is being held at the operator’s Broadway Macau resort.
According to a news release, the GEG trial is the 19th location worldwide for the Melbourne-based virtual reality entertainment brand Zero Latency.
The release described Zero Latency as “the pioneer and global leader in out-of-home, free-roam virtual reality entertainment” and added that the Macau site offers a 200-square-meter (2,150-square-foot) virtual reality gaming area, with game play featuring “zombie attacks, galaxy space missions and family fun adventures for up to eight players at one time.”
A Zero Latency-branded venue was launched in Singapore in November 2017, according to the website of promoter Tomorrow Entertainment.
The Zero Latency Macau arena feature three themed experiences: “Engineerium”; “Zombie Survival”; and “Singularity,” reported GGRAsia. Each player pays MOP400 (US$49.50) as “trial price” for a 45-minute session at the gaming arena, according to Zero Latency Macau’s official website. The regular price for the virtual reality experience is set at MOP450.
Galaxy Entertainment Deputy Chairman Francis Lui has said in the past he was on the lookout for “novel” technologies as part of Galaxy Macau’s Phase IV of development, which will be largely focused on non-gaming.
