Latvian and Bulgarian authorities are continuing to expand their respective blacklists of online operators not allowed to offer bets in their countries.
Latvia has made its 13th revision of the list since it was published in August. A total of 336 sites are on the list.
Latvia currently licenses just four online operators: Optibet, Olympic Casino, Joker Ltd. and Viensviens Ltd.
The newly black-listed names include Betsafe2.com, allbritishcasino.com, allirishcasino.com, allaustraliancasino.com, poldercasino.com, nobonuscasino.com, freespinscasino.com, klavercasino.com, playbet.com, 1bet2bet.com and portomasolive.com.
Meanwhile, Bulgaria’s State Commission on Gambling has added 20 new names to that country’s blacklist bringing it to 323 domains. Among those added are Stanjamesbet.com, Caribsports.com, Betus.com and Camacasino.com.
Bulgaria currently has eight licensed online betting operators, including Betfair, PokerStars and Eurobet.
And is another defense of a blacklist, Poland is currently conducting more than 1,000 investigations of players for gambling on illegal sites, according to published reports. The players face steep fines and penalties.
The Polish Ministry of Finance’s says it has proof of more than 24,000 gamblers in Poland using unlicensed online gambling sites based abroad and has started criminal investigations against some 1,100 players.
Poland is acting under existing law, but has not previously been known to go after individual players and has instead focused on site operators.
