Buro Resigns from MTR

Fred Buro has resigned from his position as chief marketing officer of MTR Gaming Group to pursue a start-up opportunity in the online gaming industry.

MTR Gaming Group announced that Fred Buro has resigned his post as the operator’s chief marketing officer to pursue a start-up opportunity in online social gaming.

Buro first joined MTR Gaming in 2009, after holding executive posts at Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts and Tropicana in Atlantic City, and at Penn National Gaming.

“The proliferation of online gaming in the U.S. is happening now, and its integration with all land-based casinos in the country is inevitable,” Buro said. “So now is the time to be in the online casino gaming space. I have the pedigree, contacts, creativity and passion to create something extraordinary in this industry.

“Success in this space requires the precise mix of desirable content and cadence of new product, excellence in big data mining and social media marketing, loyalty and player’s club value, an extraordinary user experience, sustained player acquisition and a constant awareness of the competitive dynamic.”

Buro said that his priority would be to start a niche online social gaming company, but he will first have to secure an investor, “although I have not ruled out partnering with a land-based casino operator that has aligning interests,” he said.
