Taking the bus to a casino shouldn’t be a case of taking your life in your hands, say the American Bus Association and American Gaming Association.
Both associations say they want to do what they can to encourage higher safety standards on companies that operate coach lines. The rising number of passenger bus crashes with buses on their way to or from casinos prompted the new safety campaign.
AGA President and CEO Geoff Freeman declared last week, “Our industry is committed to the safety of our guests, and our partnership with the American Bus Association will take that commitment one step further.”
ABA President and CEO Peter Pantuso issued a similar release that said, “Both organizations are leaders within their industry segments and recognize that by working together we can help to ensure our respective customers will have safe experiences.”
The associations plan to work together to ensure that bus lines that serve casinos are licensed. They will be working to ensure that the new casino in Springfield, Massachusetts will be served by a quality bus service, and are talking with Peter Picknelly, chief executive officer of Peter Pan bus lines, which will soon begin serving the MGM casino being built there.
Pantuso told the Republican, “We want the riding public to have confidence in safety, and the casino operators need to have confidence the buses are operated safely.”
