Bus Line that Served Mohegan Sun Discontinued

A bus line that for many years brought patrons from western Massachusetts to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut has announced the service will cease. It discontinued the service due to declining ridership.

King Ward Coach Lines, which provides bus services from Western Massachusetts to the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut, says low ridership forced it to discontinue the service, which included several towns along the route.

The last day of the service was November 23. The firm will continue to offer private charter reservations.

The June opening of the Encore Boston Harbor has impacted patronage to the two Indian casinos in the state, including the Sun and Foxwoods, which both reported a decline in profits for the 15th month in a row.
