Buzz Bingo will close 26 of its UK venues at the cost of up to 570 jobs. Officials at the largest bingo hall operator in the country said the move will help insure a future in the aftermath of the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
If the bingo halls shutter, Buzz Bingo will still operate 91 halls, according to SBCNews. Of those, 12 will open as part of the initial re-opening beginning August 6.
“We know how disappointing this news will be, especially for those of our customers who are losing their local club, and of course, our colleagues,” said Chief Executive Chris Matthews. “We know that we are more than just a club, we are part of your community, and for that, I am really sorry.”
