Brooks, Calif. – On May 16, Cache Creek Casino Resort and the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation proudly hosted their second annual charity golf tournament at the stunning Yocha Dehe Golf Club. This event, in collaboration with partners from various industries nationwide, brought together a community dedicated to making a difference.
Tribal leaders, vendors, and community partners gathered at the championship golf course with hopes of raising at least $100,000 for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano counties. The initial projections were far exceeded, with $137,000 raised going directly to the organization. The organization serves 400,000 residents monthly in Contra Costa and Solano counties, strives to serve all people experiencing food insecurity, and commits never to turn anyone away.
“The Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation remains steadfast in our commitment to building strong, inclusive communities,” expressed Anthony Roberts, Tribal Chairman of Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. “We are deeply honored to share the natural beauty of our ancestral homelands with our cherished partners. Together, we strive to raise vital funds to support the noble mission of ending hunger, ensuring that no one in our community goes without the nourishment they need. This cause is close to our hearts, and we are dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most.”
Kari Stout-Smith, General Manager and COO of Cache Creek Casino Resort, shared, “We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to support such a vital cause. The incredible turnout and generous contributions at our second annual charity golf tournament have been truly heartwarming. Seeing our business and community partners come together to help end hunger and uplift the people of Northern California fills us with immense joy. It is an honor to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated community.”
“On behalf of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, we would like to thank Cache Creek Casino Resort for your generosity and continued support. Your commitment to helping us fight food insecurity in our community will have a profound impact on our neighbors in need,” said Caitlin Sly, President and CEO of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. “With your donation from the charity golf tournament, we can provide 274,000 meals to our community.”
