Caesars Entertainment has bought out one of its local partners in the Horseshoe Baltimore casino, to assume 76 percent ownership of the waterfront casino.
Horseshoe Baltimore has been one of Maryland’s lower-performing casinos, constantly trailing nearby Maryland Live! and MGM National Harbor in revenue and profits. Recent year-on-year revenue declines were only broken by this July, when the casino equaled its July 2019 performance.
The terse, two-sentence announcement of the buyout by Caesars was made on the seventh anniversary of the casino’s opening.
