Beginning October 31 Caesars Entertainment is bringing back parking fees at its Strip properties. At first the money will be donated to pandemic aid charities.
The fees do not apply to local residents, registered hotel guests and Caesars Rewards members rated Platinum and above.
Caesars CEO Tom Reeg issued this statement: “With this updated self-parking policy, we intend to take care of our best customers – locals, hotel guests and loyal Caesars Rewards members – and provide them with ease and better access to our Las Vegas properties as they continue to stay and play with us.”
Most Las Vegas properties waived such fees when they reopened after being closed by the pandemic. Caesars is the first to reinstate them.
The fees only apply to self-parking and not valet parking, which, of course, has its own fee structure.
While there was no direct connection, some experts say it’s an attempt to control disturbances which have become more widespread on the Las Vegas Strip since the casinos reopened. By re-instituting parking fees, it may force undesirables to park elsewhere.
