In Indiana, Caesars Entertainment is expanding Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Anderson and Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville.

The Anderson zoning board recently approved a $34 million expansion at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The 38,000-square-foot project will include 100 more slot machines, restaurants and bars and a new drive-through valet parking area. The groundbreaking will take place in April 2022 and construction will take 13 to 15 months, Caesars officials said.

Hoosier Park General Manager Trent McIntosh said discussions regarding adding a hotel are ongoing.

In addition, a $32 million gambling floor expansion is in progress at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino near Shelbyville, expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The Indiana legislature allowed Indiana Grand and Hoosier Park to add live table games in January 2020. Previously the racinos were limited to electronic games. Caesars purchased the two casinos in 2018 for $1.7 billion.
