Caesars Offers Mixology Course

Caesars Las Vegas hotels are offering mixology classes. This is part of the company’s efforts to expand on non-gaming amenities offered by its casinos.

Some of the top bar staff at Caesars Las Vegas hotels are offering mixology classes. This is part of the Caesars Entertainment’s new Vegas Curated series, which offers five interactive experiences at the Cromwell, Linq and Flamingo.

The 30-minute mixology class is being offered for $80 at the Bound bar at the Cromwell. Guests are introduced to the main components of mixing a drink and they get to taste four different cocktails. They are then shown how to create their favorite rom the four.

Some of the other interactive experiences include beer tasting, a cooking class with the chefs of the Giada restaurant at the Cromwell, and a two-hour walking tour that highlights the history of the Flamingo, which was founded in the 1940s by the colorful gangster Bugsy Siegel.

Jared Rapier, vice president of hospitality marketing for Caesars Entertainment, said these new educational activities came about when the company encouraged a competition to encourage new ideas.

“This was one of the ‘Shark Tank’ ideas that came out of last year,” Rapier told Travel Weekly. “We get more of our revenue now from nongaming than we do gaming. It used to be people would head out on vacation and come back with a shot glass or a picture frame. Now more than ever people are looking for moments that they can share as their souvenirs.”
