Caesars Taps Tech Industry for New CMO

The gaming giant has appointed Chris Holdren, CMO of internet startup Handy Technologies, to direct all its marketing initiatives. A veteran of Starwood Holdings and Disney, Holdren brings a wide range of digital marketing experience to the post.

Caesars Entertainment has gone outside the gaming industry in its choice of a corporate marketing guru.

Chris Holdren, the chief marketing officer of Handy Technologies, an online startup specializing in connecting homeowners with cleaning, decorating and other domestic services, officially assumes the CMO post at Caesars on November 1, the company said. He will report directly to President and CEO Mark Frissora.

“Chris has broad marketing experience overseeing one of the best-known and most successful loyalty programs in the hospitality industry,” Frissora said. “His experience will complement our efforts to further cement Caesars Entertainment’s marketing leadership in the gaming and hospitality space.”

Prior to joining Handy, Holdren spent more than 15 years at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide overseeing marketing and loyalty programs. He served in similar roles with The Walt Disney Company, where he directed the creation of property-based digital experiences, and Saban Entertainment, where he developed interactive content and other marketing initiatives.
