Unfortunately, as Caesars Windsor is “finding efficiencies in the departmental process,” that means 47 full-time employees and 15 part-time employees will be losing their jobs. The departments primarily hit are finance, food and beverage, and transportation. However, even with the losses, 19 full-time and 18 part-time jobs have been posted. Qualified employees who lost their jobs are allowed to apply for them.
This marks the second time this year layoffs have been issued. In January, 26 full-time and two part-time employees were let go. The 65 notices issued also marks the most ever issued in one single time since 2011, when 45 full-time employees were laid off.
Jhoan Baluyot, spokeswoman for Caesars Windsor said the numbers are good though for the casino. During the third quarter, the casino saw an average of 10,133 customers per day. Baluyot also said the casino’s hotel show between 80 to 90 percent occupancy throughout the week, and 100 percent capacity on show nights.
