Las Vegas Sands Corporation has announced that Chris Cahill, the operator’s vice president of global operations, is resigning effective March 31. The company gave no reason for his resignation.
Cahill was wrapping up the second year of a five-year contract with LVS, where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in Las Vegas, Macau, Singapore and Pennsylvania. He had been chief operating officer of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International prior to joining Sands in March 2012.
It was the second resignation of a high-level executive from Las Vegas Sands in the past month. Robert DeSalvio, president of the company’s popular Sands Bethlehem Casino Resort, resigned effective March 14 to accept a post with Wynn Resorts, where he is heading that company’s efforts to establish a casino outside of Boston.
