California Casino Begins $5 Million Renovation

One of the largest casino resorts in Southern California, Pala Casino Spa & Resort, has begun a $5 million renovation and addition that will open this May.

Pala Casino Spa & Resort in California’s San Diego County has begun a million renovation that is centered on new venues, refurbished eateries and a permanent outdoor stage.

The key new featured will be Cave, a new 6,000 square foot restaurant, bar, wine cave, featuring Italian cuisine. It will replace Mama’s Cucina Italiana, although retaining the staff and chef. New Mediterranean dishes will augment the restaurant’s Italian cuisine.

The wine cave will feature vintages from California, Europe and Australia.

The Starlight Theatre will be above the wine cave. A new outdoor entertainment venue will be dubbed Luis Rey’s, which will include a patio lounge and bar overlooking views of the nearby mountains. It will feature American and Mexican favorites and appetizers.

The renovation should be online by Memorial Day weekend, just in time for kick-off concerts featuring Queen Nation, Zeppelin USE and Credence Clearwater Revisited.
