The Agua Caliente Casino in Cathedral City, California is moving toward an opening by the end of this year. The pandemic has not slowed down construction by the Agua Caliente band of Cahuilla Indians, who broke ground in November.
Reid Milanovich, vice chairman of the Agua Caliente Band, told NBC Palm Springs, “As far as the speed goes, we just have a great crew, a great team, they’re very efficient, they work quickly. We have about 165 to 190 workers here on a daily basis.”
Stone James, economic development director of Cathedral City, added, “It’s going to help increase the momentum to what we’ve already built within our arts and entertainment district, it’s going to complement the Mary Pickford Movie Theatre. The casino is just going to make it even better.”
The casino will have 500 slots and eight tables, retail shopping and dining. One of the two restaurants will be a sports bar.
