The Kern County, California Board of Supervisors has proposed a $218 million, 20-year intergovernmental deal with the Tejon Indians. The county would provide police and emergency services to the $600 million Hard Rock International hotel and casino.

California’s Kern County has proposed a two-decade $218 million deal with the Tejon Indians to provide police and emergency services to the $600 casino and hotel the tribe plans to build with Hard Rock International.

That project will include a 165,000 square foot casino and 400-room hotel with 13 restaurants, an entertainment arena, fitness center, convention space and a 22-acre RV park. The tribe would also build administrative buildings, a clinic and housing for tribal members.

The Board of Supervisors were scheduled to vote July 23 on the proposal, which included a one-time payment of $13.8 to help the County build a combined fire and police station near the tribe’s 306 acre site and pay for training and equipment.
