California Judge Dismisses Wynn Lawsuit

A lawsuit against former casino mogul Steve Wynn and Wynn Resorts executives that was dismissed in Nevada had a similar result in California on October 29.

Former Wynn salon manager Angelica Limcaco brought the lawsuit. She claimed she was blacklisted and intimidated into silence when she reported that Wynn had raped one of her salon workers in 2005.

She first filed suit in 2018, claiming she was fired over the incident when she filed a complaint with casino executives. The employee who was allegedly raped was at the center of a 2018 Wall Street Journal expose that led to Wynn’s downfall. He was forced to leave the company he founded and divest himself of all company assets.

Wynn has consistently claimed he was innocent, although the Journal story revealed he paid the woman a $7.5 million settlement.

Limcaco filed a second lawsuit, claiming that bribery and corruption had caused the first lawsuit to be dismissed—although the judge said it was because her claim was made after the statute of limitations.

The California judge also ruled that Limcaco lacked standing to sue in that state.
