California Signs New Gaming Compacts

California Governor Jerry Brown (l.) has signed several tribal state gaming compacts and updated compacts with a wide variety of tribes that range up and down the Golden State.

California Signs New Gaming Compacts

Governor Jerry Brown last week signed several tribal state gaming compacts. The compacts are with the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians for a small casino with 75 slot machines, plus amendments to compacts with the Santa Ynez Band of Mission Indians, the Karuk Tribe and the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians.

The amended Santa Ynez compact allows off-track wagering at a satellite facility at the existing casino. The Karuk compacts updates it to bring it in line with more recent compacts. The Dry Creek compact includes technical corrections.
