California Tribe Buys Fire Engines for County

A tribe which recently opened the $400 million Hollywood Jamul Casino in San Diego’s backcountry has delivered two fire engines to the San Diego County Fire Authority. The casino is located in Jamul, one of the most isolated communities in the county.

Jamul Indian Village in San Diego County, California, has delivered the keys to a new million ladder truck and a 0,000 pumper to the San Diego County Fire Authority—just in time for fire season, which begins in a few weeks.

The keys were delivered in a ceremony held at the entrance to the $400 million Hollywood Jamul Casino, which opened several months ago in Jamul, one of the most isolated communities in the San Diego backcountry.

Buying the engines is part of the commitment the tribe made when it signed the Fire and Life Services Agreement with the County.
