California Tribe to Build Casino

California’s Mechoopda Tribe has partnered with Palace Hospitality to build a casino in Chico, Butte County. Palace, an enterprise of Tachi Palace Casino Resort (l.), will build and manage the new casino for the tribe. Palace CEO Michael Olujic (l.) says it will be an “incredible” casino.

California Tribe to Build Casino

The Mechoopda Indian Tribe will be building a casino in Chico, northern California. Palace Hospitality, a recently activated enterprise of Tachi Palace Casino Resort, will build and manage the casino for the tribe.

The casino will be on 91 acres. It will have 300 slot machines at first, plus a bar, food court and players club.

Mechoopda Tribal Chairman Dennis Ramirez commented, “This casino has been a long time coming, with the official compact approval being received in 2018 after more than a decade of attempts to move forward.” He added, “Palace Hospitality’s knowledge and experience in developing successful casino-operation methods and programs make them a perfect fit for our new venture.”

Michael Olujic, principal of Palace Hospitality, added, “Our working business model for the Mechoopda Tribe will create an incredible casino, generate revenue, and build positive community relationship.”
