California’s New Bicycle Hotel & Casino Unwrapped

The Bicycle Casino Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens, California, last week celebrated it’s the grand opening of the $50 million facility with a lavish ribbon cutting. Governor Jerry Brown led the band of VIPs welcoming the newly renovated casino.

California Governor Jerry Brown November 18 joined other VIPs in unveiling the new million Bicycle Casino Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens, 10 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

The governor took part in the ribbon cutting along with Managing General Partner & CEO Hashem Minaiy and general partner Robert H. Carter. They were joined by Bell Gardens Mayor Jennifer Rodriguez, state and city officials.

The ceremony was a little different from the traditional style, and instead included a grand entrance by an escort of motorcyclists in tuxedos and people dress as playing cards that spelled out “Bicycle.”

Minaiy declared, “Today was one of the most exciting days for all of us here at The Bicycle Hotel & Casino, and for the city of Bell Gardens. This is truly a dream realized and we look forward to welcoming our first guest in just a few short weeks on December 1.”

Carter added, “Hashem and I set out to not only build a beautiful hotel for our guests, but a great property that can be shared with and enjoyed by everyone in the community,” said Carter.

The new resort includes a seven-story boutique hotel, 99 rooms including 29 luxury suites, with the most luxurious being the 1,359 sq. ft. Governor’s Suite, several dining venues such as the Bike Brewery, a spa and an outdoor pool deck. The casino has 185 tables.

The Bike Brewery has 28 taps. There is also a Coffee House, 24-hour Snack Bar and in-room dining.

The entrance to the resort is a four-lane porte-cochere leading into a lobby with a huge crystal chandelier. Interior design repeats a theme of overlapping circles that suggest the spokes of bicycle wheels.
