A Canadian development firm plans to build a $400 million tourism complex with three casinos near Moín, Limón in Costa Rica. Casino City Caribe (l.), in the planning stages for two years, will include three hotels, two convention and cultural centers, a marina and a helipad.

Canadian developer Patti Rao Projects has announced that construction of a planned tourist complex in Costa Rica is still in the works. The $400 million complex will be located near Moín, Limón, at the entrance to the Tortuguero Canals, and operate under the name Casino City Caribe.

It will include three hotels with a total of 264 rooms, more than 200 apartments, two convention and cultural centers, a marina and helipad, a spa and wellness center, an entertainment venue and recreational facilities. The phased project, first announced in April 2018, is expected to be completely finished by 2027.

Patti Rao, owner of Patti Rao Projects, said he is heartened to see the project finally move forward. “I work hard for the success of the project, for the progress of Limón and Costa Rica, and for the tourist and economic growth

of the Caribbean coast,” he said.
