Canidrome Gets More Time to Place Dogs

The Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Co. has three more months to relocate some 600 racing greyhounds after the dog track closes its doors July 21. All animals are now up for adoption, says Canindrome owner Angela Leong.

The Macau (Yat Yuen) Canidrome Co. Ltd. must officially close by July 21, but the dog track has been given three extra months to find homes for 600 racing greyhounds, according to the Macau News Agency.

The extension was OK’d by the city’s Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, which rejected a request for a one-year extension. The Canidrome is owned by Angela Leong, Macau legislator and executive director of casino operator SJM Holdings.
