Cape Verdean Resort Delayed

David Chow’s (l.) casino resort in Cape Verde off the coast of Africa may be delayed for months due to issues with the reclaimed land. The developer needs that time to “solidify the land settlement,” said a lawmaker.

An integrated resort project in Cape Verde will be delayed due to an overhaul of the island settlement location, according to Macau Business. “According to the project developer there is the need for five to six months to solidify the land settlement,” said Cape Verde spokesman Nuno Miguel Melo Furtado.

Cape Verde is a group of islands off the northwestern coast of Africa. The $300 million resort is being developed by businessman David Chow and Macau Legend Development in the Cape Verdean capital of Praia. When complete, it will include also include office buildings and a museum. It is expected to open sometime in 2019 or 2020.
