Casino Cards, Glasses Go to School

Grade school kids too young to know much of anything about casinos were plied with gifts that carried the branding of the Wind River Hotel and Casino when they visited the casino’s museum recently. Some parents were highly outraged.

Officials of the Fremont County School District 25, Wyoming got egg on their face last week when students were given cocktail glasses and playing cards branded with the name of the Wind River Hotel and Casino when they were visiting a museum.

The event was an event intended to grade school teach students about tribal culture. It took place at a small museum inside the casino. Students picked from many items they were allowed to take home, including maps, puzzles and backpacks.

School officials say that in future they will review all gifts before such events take place.
