Casino du Liban, 13 miles from of Beirut, Lebanon has announced it will launch online gambling and sports betting before the close of 2019. Casino du Liban is the country’s only legal gaming hall.
“We are making all the preparations to set up the online gambling site in six months,” Chairman Roland Khoury told the Daily Star. “This online gambling will be the only official and licensed site by the state. The authorities will block the rest of the online gambling sites once our online webpage is launched.”
The move is reportedly in response to competition from hundreds of amusement arcades in Lebanon as well as Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s planned $400 million casino, City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol, which is due to open at the end of 2021.
