Casino Pays Tiverton $1 Million Since Opening

The Twin Rive Tiverton Casino Hotel is turning out to be quite lucrative for the town of Tiverton, Rhode Island. Since it opened in September the casino has paid nearly $1 million to the city.

The Twin River Tiverton Casino Hotel has paid the town of Tiverton, Rhode Island almost $1 million since it opened last September.

Rhode Island Department of Revenue spokesman Paul Grimaldi told the Providence Journal “The casino is doing well and certainly meeting expectations.” According to the town treasurer the city has deposited $972,076 in its general fund so far.

The casino has about 1,000 slots and the town gets a percentage from each one. It works out to be between $3,000 and $5,500 a week.
