Casinos Austria AG has announced the appointment of Andreas Bierwirth as its new chief transformation officer, effective October 1.
Bierwirth will focus primarily on the digital development of the group and group-wide process and project management. He will also oversee the company’s foreign casino business (CAI).
An experienced executive, Bierwirth joins Casinos Austria after most recently working as CEO of aviation company Avconjet. He was also previously CEO of Magenta Telekom and both chief financial officer and commercial officer of Austrian Airlines.
In addition, he served on the easyJet board for nine years and is currently chair of Do&CO AG and a member of the board at Finnair.
Senior Leadership Renewals at Casinos Austria
The appointment came as Casinos Austria also announced renewed contracts for two other senior members of staff.
Erwin van Lambaart will continue as CEO, while Martin Skopek will remain as CFO of the company. Both Van Lambaart and Skopek signed extended contracts through 2027.
“I am pleased that today we were able to unanimously set the course for the future of the group within the supervisory board,” Chairman Wolfgang Hesoun said.
“With the extension of the existing board contracts and the addition of Andreas Bierwirth, the group now has an outstanding trio at the helm that will be able to shape the challenges of the future in the best possible way.”
