Mongolia is considering legal foreigners-only casinos to raise tax revenues, according to News.MN. An earlier casino bill was submitted in 2012 but did not pass.
On January 10, the country’s Judicial Standing Committee established a legislative committee that will draft a gaming bill. Legislators are modeling the industry on principles adopted in Vietnam, South Korea and Cambodia. Only foreign nationals will be permitted to gamble at two casino resorts. The resorts are expected to generate MNT 74-130 billion in tax revenue annually, reported the World Casino Directory.
