Catalonia’s Shuttered Casinos Granted Rent Relief

The casinos in Spain’s Catalonia region have been denied permission to reopen their casinos due to the number of new infections with the Covid-19 virus that have been recorded, but the government has issued a decree allowing casinos, arcades and bingo halls to pay only half their rent for the duration of the virus-related closings.

Casinos, bars and restaurants have been in lockdown since October 23, with the shutdown initially planned for two weeks. However, new Covid-19 infections have extended the shutdown.
