Centaur Could Be Purchased For $1 Billion

Centaur Gaming LLC, headquartered in Indianapolis, is said to be working with Deutsche Bank AG to put itself up for sale for $1 billion, including debt. Centaur, established in 1993, operates Hoosier Park Racing and Casino in Anderson and Indiana Grand Racing and Casino (l.) in Shelbyville, plus several off-track betting outlets.

Casino and horseracing company Centaur Gaming LLC, based in Indianapolis, has let it be known that it could be purchased for billion including debt. Sources said Centaur is working with Deutsche Bank AG on the sale process.

Founded in 1993, Centaur operates Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, as well as Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville, which it acquired in 2013 with the aid of Canadian private equity firm Clairvest Group Inc. Both properties offer more than 2,000 slot machines and table games, plus dining options and horse racetracks. Centaur also operates several off-track betting properties in Indiana.
